Congratulations to Lieutenant Thomas, Retired Officer Guerriero, Officer Tinaj, Officer Brown, And Officer Hillier who received a commendation from the Detroit Police Department. They were recognized for their outstanding arrest of several subjects wanted for multiple car break-ins in the downtown area, that occurred in November 2017. GREAT JOB!!!

WSUPD would like to thank the Woodbridge community, the City of Detroit and everyone who assisted in the creation of the Rose Dog Park. The park was dedicated today in memory of fallen Officer Sergeant Collin Rose.

The City of Detroit has begun the Anthony Wayne Drive resurfacing project. Parking will not be allowed along Anthony Wayne Drive beginning Thursday May 17th. No parking Signs have been posted.

Collin Rose’s name was added today to the Wayne County First Responders Memorial, located in Hines Park.

National Police Week honors the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement officers. WSUPD especially remembers the valor and sacrifice of K-9 Sgt. Wayne State University Police Department Investigator Chris Powell, Officer Heather Glowacz and Officer Margie Springer will be participating in the Police Unity Tour. The Police Unity Tour ride to raise money for fallen officers and to remember those officers who were killed in the line of duty.
