We want the public to know that campaign signs are considered property. Like any other personal property, taking it without permission is considered THEFT pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 608.52. It's unfortunate that some people feel compelled to take campaign signs that do not belong to them. Also, if people are in possession of stolen signs they can also be charged with possession of stolen property pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 609.53. The criminal penalties for theft and possession of stolen property depends upon the values of the property stolen. A victim of someone who possess stolen property may also independently pursue civil action and seek $1,500 plus reasonable attorney fees. If you are a victim of a missing campaign sign, please contact our office to file a report at 763-473-9209.

This is ONE MORE example of not paying attention while behind the wheel. Even with the green light you need to be aware.

Another successful open house is in the books! Nice work Hamel Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.

LocalTies has a really nice tribute to our late Mayor Bob Mitchell.

Please be careful!!!

Pay attention, especially in construction zones. Put your phones down and pay attention!
