We are asking for some assistance, tomorrow morning is trash day, please keep your trash in your garage until morning and then bring it out. We have contacted a private contractor that will trap the bears for us but we aren't sure when he will be available!!

This is our statement about our two nuisance bears We called the DNR, they no longer deal with the relocation of nuisance animals. I spoke to the head of Wildlife Management for our area, what he said was hopefully they move on when more food become available in the woods. With 300 homes in town and however many bird feeders it is unrealistic to to expect everyone to keep their trash in their garages. The reason the PD has not done anything is because we don't want to have to kill an animal without exhausting other means. Be aware and be safe!! call 911 when you come across the bear!!

Attention Nashwauk Area residents: April 29th from 10a.m.-2p.m. Prescription drop off The Nashwauk Police Department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Agency on a national prescription drug take back initiative. The initiative runs now through April 29 2017. This is a great opportunity to check your medicine cabinets and turn in and dispose of old, outdated, and no longer used prescription medications. Simple bring them to drop boxes located in the Nashwauk Police Department and we will properly dispose of them.
