THE BROOKHAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT WOULD LIKE TO ASK THE PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING THE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY SHOWN IN THE PICTURES BELOW. ON OCTOBER 29TH, 2018 THE MCCOMB POLICE DEPARTMENT ARRESTED TWO INDIVIDUALS THAT WERE IN POSSESSION OF THESE ITEMS. AFTER A BRIEF INTERVIEW IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE ITEMS WERE STOLEN FROM DIFFERENT MINI STORAGE UNITS IN THE CITY OF BROOKHAVEN. WE HOPE THAT WITH THE HELP OF SOCIAL MEDIA WE WILL BE ABLE TO RETURN THE ITEMS TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS. WE KNOW HOW CERTAIN THINGS CAN BECOME " OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND" THROUGH THE COURSE OF EVERYDAY LIFE. IF YOU FREQUENT YOUR STORAGE FACILITY AND NOTICE SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY, PLEASE REPORT IT. YOU MAY BE HELPING SOMEONE THAT IS UNAWARE THEY HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF THE BROOKHAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Memorial for Cpl Zack Moak and Officer James Kevin White. Thank You to the citizens of Brookhaven for the love and support shown this week. This is the reason why Officers of the Brookhaven Police Department will continue to Serve and Protect the City of Brookhaven.

"We will not waver; we will not tire; we will not falter, and we will not fail. Peace and Freedom will prevail." -George W. Bush This quote sits heavy with us this morning as we get back to work after a long week. One of the worst weeks Brookhaven has ever seen. The funerals are done and the bodies of Officer James Kevin White and Cpl. Zach Moak have been laid to rest. Their souls watching down on us from Heaven. The parking lot is empty this morning at BPD. The news media have moved on. And soon, the other agencies will go back to their normal jobs, and leave Brookhaven. During the processions, we passed hundreds of people. People of all ages, races, and religion. That is what Brookhaven is made up of. As was posed earlier this week, "We See You." We saw the sadness, the heartache, and the sorrow. We also saw concern. "What has become of our beautiful town?" Brookhaven, I will stand here today to tell you that we will not waver, we will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail. Brookhaven Police Department will prevail. And just how do we do that, you may ask. That leads me to another favorite quote. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." -Martin Luther King, Jr. The signs saying that Brookhaven Supports the Officers in Blue, True American Heroes, are wonderful. Hang them at your businesses, in your yards. Let the American Flag wave. The City of Brookhaven needs every person, pouring out their love for the city. That is the only way we will drive out the hate. Be a light. Shine bright on Brookhaven and let the criminals know they are not welcome here and we will give everything we have to drive out the darkness. Thank you all for your support of the Brookhaven Police Department.

First Baptist Church will be providing food to all law enforcement and first responders today after the funeral service, up until around 4 pm.

While attempting to sleep and reflecting back on a very long day, I began to smile. I was thinking of Officer White and Cpl Moak and the events of the day. To the citizens that attended the service, WE SAW YOU. To the citizens on the side of the roadway, WE SAW YOU. To the business owners with employees holding signs, WE SAW YOU. To Entergy with crews and bucket trucks with flags hanging, WE SAW YOU. To CN crews on the tracks with flags, WE SAW YOU. To Brookhaven Fire Department with flags hanging from the Ladder Truck, WE SAW YOU. To our City , County and State Leaders, WE SAW YOU. To our EMS and County Fire Departments, WE SAW YOU. To our beautiful children in front of the schools, WE SAW YOU. To the Officers from all over the Nation, who have come to work shifts or honor our fallen, WE SAW YOU. To the ones that I may have overlooked, WE SAW YOU. To the criminal element or others who wish to do harm to this Community, WE WILL SEE YOU SOON. FINALLY, THANK YOU FOR BEING SEEN TODAY, WE LOVE YOU BROOKHAVEN! SINCERLY, OFFICERS OF THE BROOKHAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT #OLEBROOKSTRONG #BPDSTEADFAST
