Shoutout to members of the Missoula County IMT, who've spent the past week in Florida helping with Hurricane Michael recovery efforts. Not only is this deployment helping those affected by disaster, it's also a great training opportunity that will make the crew more agile when responding to large-scale events in our area.

Another inaccurate election flier hitting mailboxes ... Remember, your ballot will NOT be counted if it's simply postmarked by Election Day! The Elections Office must receive it by then, so plan to mail it no later than Thursday, Nov. 1. Waited too long or don't want to pay for postage (two Forever stamps)? You can always drop your ballot off at the Missoula Votes Elections Office in Building 15 at the Missoula Fairgrounds, in the drop box at the courthouse or at any Missoula County polling place on Election Day.

Missoula County is proud to be part of the movement to #RethinkJails. We believe money should not determine who stays in jail and that jails should not be treated as warehouses for non-violent offenders with mental health and substance abuse issues. Thanks to a $700,000 grant from the MacArthur Foundation's The Safety and Justice Challenge, we can continue our critical work to safely reduce the jail population and address disparities in our local justice system.
