Wet Snow Expected across Northeast Montana again Tonight Overview: A cold front will move across Eastern Montana tonight bringing a mix of rain and snow to the region. Most locations will see some snow accumulation, with the greatest amount occurring in the far northeast corner of the state where up to 3 inches is possible. Icy roads are possible with the wintry mix of precipitation. Timing: Rain will spread north into the region this afternoon. The rain will transition to snow during the evening as cold air moves in from the north. Most of the snow accumulation is expected to occur between midnight and 6 am Friday. Affected Areas: The greatest snow accumulation is expected across Daniels, Sheridan and Roosevelt counties, along with Valley county north of Hwy 2. Forecaster Confidence: For snowfall amounts is medium, as temperatures will be within a few degrees of freezing overnight, which can impact transition from rain to snow along with the accumulation rate.
