Per Sheriff Beckman: No travel advised for Steele County. Some areas of Steele county have received over 14 inches of snow. We expect up to another 2 inches by 10pm tonight. Snow plows will be back on the road by 6am. Be safe everyone, NO TRAVEL ADVISED means exactly that. Please don’t put your life in danger or the responders that could have to come get you if you get stranded. Be safe!

So.... we are looking at the "S" word again tonight into Thursday. It looks like we will be getting snow, they are just unsure as to where the heaviest snowfall will be at. Estimated 3-6" tonight into Thursday morning with some gusty winds up to 35mph. This can prove hazardous for morning and afternoon commutes. Be safe and be prepared!

2018 Excellence in County Government Award Winner - Steele County's own- Pam Amundson.

Congrats Pam on your Excellence in County Government Award! #ndaco

So we are not in a winter weather advisory for today or tonight. It’s definitely cold, but it looks that we might see more of a rain/snow mix (depending on temps). This can still prove for hazardous travel on Friday morning as the rain/snow mix could freeze overnight creating slippery travel in the AM. Be prepared. Be safe. Outlook for October 15 thru Halloween is looking at highs in the low 50s.... still too far out for the models just yet.

Now here’s the update for tomorrow night into Friday....

Here's what you need to know: 1. You will get an alert on your phone today at 1:18pm CST. 2. It's just a test of the Presidential Alerting System through FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security. 3. It's just a test. 4. It's just a test. 5. This is not a mistake, this is just a test. Snow still possibly in the forecast for next week...

So... you’re saying there’s a chance.... Possible SNOW due to an early storm this next Monday. Still a week out, so we don’t know for sure yet. Stay tuned for updates! I better get that snowblower fixed...
