I felt I should let the citizens of Harvey know that the city has implemented a new city ordinance pertaining to animals and fowls. In the new ordinance some of the main changes are as follows: 1- Dogs and Cats must be licensed after 6 months of age. 2- Dogs and Cats are to be provided with a collar in which to place to license on. 3- The number of dogs and cats allowed to be owned is 4. It can be 4 dogs, 4 cats, or any combination of each adding up to 4. 4- The first and second violation to the ordinance will be considered an infraction and you will be sited with a fine not to exceed $500.00. The third violation will be considered a misdemeanor carrying a fine of up to $1000.00 or imprisonment not to exceed thirty days. If there are any questions, please feel free to stop by the office and speak with me. I will be more than happy to speak with you regarding this ordinance. Chief Towe
