Thurston County and the cities of Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater are co-hosting a Free Stormwater Workshop for Contractors on October 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Puget Sound Community College!

The 3rd Annual Master Your: Garden, Compost, Recycling Education Day! is on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Salvation Army Community Center. Participants will have access to a series of workshops including pruning, growing veggies, recycling and composting, hallway demonstrations, activity booths, and live demonstrations. There is a small entrance fee of $5 payable by cash or check.

Due to the Power outage at the County Courthouse Complex the scheduled Planning Commission meeting tonight is cancelled. Additional information regarding rescheduling will follow soon.

County Courthouse buildings 1, 2, and 3 are closed for the remainder of the day due to power outages. The Auditor's Office is still open for manual recording of essential documents and voter registration. For Court services, please contact District or Superior Court.

Buildings One, Two and Three at the Thurston County Courthouse are experiencing a power outage. Puget Sound Energy crews are investigating the cause of the outage, but there is not estimated time of completion. Emergency lights and building security are still in operation. We will provide updates here as the situation evolves.

Learn more about a proposed land use amendment and associated rezone to change The Evergreen State College from a Rural Residential Resource 1/5 to a new institutional zone on Oct. 9 from 6 to 8 pm. The proposed change would allow the college greater flexibility to plan for development of the campus, consistent with its current use.
