The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports a suspect has been arrested in connection with a homeless camp shooting. The 43-year-old is accused of opening fire at the camp just before 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A witness gave police a description of the shooter, and officers spotted someone matching that description leaving the area in a gray SUV.
After pulling the SUV over with two suspects inside, the witnesses positively ID’d one of them. Officers then started obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle.
The lone gunshot victim walked away from the crime scene and was treated at Harborview Medical Center. His would was in the stomach and not life-threatening.
The suspect is being held at King County Jail and faces assault and drug charges.
