The Baltimore Sun reports that a woman was arrested twice in 20 minutes for drunk driving, according to local police. Early Saturday morning, Stephanie Ringgold, 33, of Baltimore, was arrested for driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated and other traffic charges.
The arresting trooper stopped Ringgold after he saw her Dodge Charger speeding on Route 40 and passing a vehicle on the shoulder. She was taken to Baltimore County Police Department’s Essex precinct.
Ringgold also had another adult and two children in the vehicle with her, so she was charged with DUI while transporting a minor and DUI per se while transporting a minor. These carry additional penalties.
After she was processed and released to a sober driver, she was told not to drive for 12 hours. However, within 20 minutes the same arresting officer saw her get back into the Dodge charger and drive away. He stopped and arrested her again because she still showed signs of impairment. Ringgold was taken to the Baltimore County Police Department’s Towson Precinct, processed and released to a sober driver again.
Ringgold’s court date has not been set, and there is no attorney on record for her yet.
