The Associated Press reports that a teacher in California has been arrested after forcing a boy to get a haircut at school.
In Visalia, a high school teacher was arrested and charged with child cruelty and battery because she allegedly cut off the hair of a student. Margaret Gieszenger, 52, faces up to 3 years and 6 months in jail if she’s convicted of all six counts.
Police arrested Gieszinger Wednesday after a video showing the forced haircut was posted on social media. While cutting the boy’s hair, Gieszinger was singing “Star Spangled Banner” and throwing chunks of his cut hair on the floor.
It is unclear whether Gieszinger has retained an attorney at this time.
