FOX News reports that two Georgia women have been arrested for selling marijuana edibles at a church event. Officials found one of the women selling the edibles on Friday when the local church was hosting an event for entrepreneurs who sold items from rented booths. Ebony Cooper, 28, was “openly selling the edibles” which included brownies, puddings and cereal treats.
Agents from the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team purchased some of the edibles and watched Cooper before following her to Leah Pressley, 26, to an off-site location. After searching Pressley’s car, agents found $1,000 in cash and several edibles, as well as a firearm that they believe Cooper had in her possession while selling on the church property.
Both women are from Savannah, and were charged with felony counts of drug charges and taken to Chatham County Detention Center. Agents don’t believe Pressley was selling the edibles on the property, but Cooper was actively advertising them on social media.
