The Los Angeles Times reports that a California man has been arrested after a woman’s body was found in a gutter in front of his mobile home in Gardena. Police are currently trying to determine if the man had a role in her death and how she died.

On Thursday night, a woman walking on the street around 9:20 p.m. noticed the naked and bloodied body of the woman lying face down in the gutter on Main Street. Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced her dead.

The 55-year-old man living in the mobile home talked with police and told them the victim had been with him prior to the witness finding her body. He allegedly admitted to killing her, says the City News Service.

The sheriff’s office told the news agency that the woman was a prostitute and the man had picked her up, killing her at some point in the mobile home during the two days before her body was found, then dumped the body outside.

Authorities have stated that the woman appears to be between 40 and 50 years old, and suffered blunt force trauma to her head and body.

The suspect has been booked at Century Sheriff’s Station, and is being held on a $2 million bail, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. The suspect has not been named yet by authorities, and the investigation is ongoing.
