The Baltimore Sun reports that a man has been charged for the second time with the death of a child. Two baby boys, born five years apart, were beaten to death in Baltimore. In December 2012, a seven-month-old suffered fractured ribs and a brain bleed. The other baby, who was 18 months old at the time of his attack, died last week after suffering a broken clavicle and other internal injuries.

The first child’s father was convicted in his death and served three years in prison. That same man has now been charged in the death of the second baby, which belongs to his girlfriend.

Francois Browne, of Woodburne Heights, is 35 years old and was arrested and charged with the murder of the second baby Saturday. He is currently being held without bail, and no attorney of record is available for him.

According to prosecutors, Browne should still be in jail for the first baby’s death. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with 7 years suspended, but he only served two years and 11 months.

In both cases, it turns out the babies were in Browne’s care alone before their injuries were discovered. The first baby died after suffering a brain bleed in the hospital for three days. The second baby stopped breathing after Browne allegedly heard him moaning last week. Bruises were found all over his face and mouth, and the left clavicle was broken. Browne told police the injuries happened when the baby fell on the playground earlier that day.
