FOX News reports that a Florida woman has been arrested for leaving her 6 kids ‘infested with lice’ at home. Authorities said the children were found to be living in some of the worst conditions they’ve ever seen. Sarah Nicole Resko left the children at home alone and was arrested for six counts of child neglect.

Police went to the home after receiving a call about the children roaming the streets. A 2-year-old girl was found only partly dressed, and a 4-year-old boy was also found infested with lice. The children also were covered with open sores.

Four other kids, determined to be the younger kids’ siblings, were found riding their bikes down the road. Those children were 6, 8, 9 and 13, and told police Resko left them alone to go to work. The home was found to be lacking running water and sufficient food, and had no electricity. The children were also sleeping on bare mattresses on the floor, and the home was overrun with dog feces and flies.

When Resko returned, she claimed she was only gone a few minutes. However, police had already been there over an hour at that point in time. Resko left her children unsupervised in April 2017 and February 2018, and a supervision plan was implemented by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The six children were placed in DCF custody once it was determined that Resko had repeatedly left them unsupervised in the home.
