FOX News reports that a road rage incident in California has resulted on a flipped SUV and assault charges for the suspects. On Thursday in Oceanside, just northwest of San Diego, a witness to the melee posted a video of the incident to social media.

In the video, a line of cars were sitting in traffic when a man exited his vehicle and approached the driver of the SUV behind him and shouted at him. The driver of the SUV tried to maneuver around the vehicle in front of him to the highway while the man continued to yell at him and spat at the driver. As the man walked back to his car, the SUV sideswiped his vehicle and continued to drive forward, but the action forced the SUV to flip.

No cause for the dispute has been discovered, but witnesses believe that the SUV wouldn’t allow the smaller car to move into its lane. Police initially thought the accident was a hit-and-run incident, but later discovered otherwise when the video was posted online. The video was used to identify the driver of the BMW – Kevin McCall, 33, of Vista.

McCall was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor assault charge for spitting on the SUV’s driver, Andrew Branch, 23, of Escondido. Branch was also arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held at the Vista Detention Facility.

Traffic was reportedly backed up for about an hour due to the incident.
