The New York Post reports that Sarah Palin’s son attacked his father in a drunken rage and was arrested. Track Palin, 28, allegedly broke into his parents’ house over the weekend and beat his father, Todd Palin, and now faces charges of fourth-degree assault, criminal mischief and first-degree burglary.

Court documents state that Track had wanted to return to the home to get a truck, but was drunk and on pain meds. Todd then told him to stay away, according to the LA Times. Track told Todd he was “going to come anyway to beat his ass,” according to a Wasilla Police affidavit.

When Track arrived at the house, Todd met him at the door with a pistol and Track subsequently broke a window, entered the home and started beating Todd.

Sarah called police at 8:30 p.m., saying Track was “on some type of medication” and “freaking out.” By the time police arrived, the parents were fleeing the home in separate vehicles. Todd reportedly had a bloody face and Sarah was “visibly upset.”

When police caught Track and confronted him, he called the police “peasants” and demanded they surrender their weapons. He was later handcuffed and taken from the home.

Police reports state that Track claimed to have told Todd to go ahead and shoot him multiple times during the attack.

Track is being held at the Mat-Su Pretria Facility in Palmer, Alaska. His bail has been set at $5,000.

Sources are unclear whether Track entered a plea in court, and he does not have an attorney listed on record. The burglary charge is a felony and the assault and criminal mischief charges are misdemeanors.

Track has a past record with domestic violence charges, too. In January of 2016 he allegedly punched his girlfriend and pointed a gun at her. He pleaded guilty to reduced charges of possessing a firearm while intoxicated.

In 2014, Track was allegedly involved in a fight at a house party, but no official charges were filed against him in that case.
