Bruce Michael Alexander, a 49-year-old resident of Florida, was arrested on October 21st after sexually abusing a fellow passenger on a Southwest flight. The suspect’s overtly egregious behavior was matched by his equally outlandish claims that the “President of the United States says it’s ok to grab women by their private parts.”
The criminal complaint regarding the incident stated that the suspect and victim were both on a flight headed from Houston to New Mexico. The victim, a woman, claimed that she fell asleep shortly after the flight began. She startled awake a short time later to find the passenger behind her was groping her breast. She attempted to brush away the incident, but half an hour later, she felt the same man’s fingers squeezing her elbow. He brushed his hands across her arm, right side, ribs and bra line. She immediately confronted the man and called for a flight attendant’s help. She was moved to another seat for the remainder of the flight.
Upon landing in Albuquerque, the victim gave her statement to police. Investigators determined that Alexander was a total stranger prior to the flight. Alexander was detained. Police confirmed that the suspect’s fingers matched the victim’s description. Alexander was placed in handcuffs, but screamed out that the President says such behavior is “ok” before being escorted out of the area. He is being charged with abusive sexual contact. Contrary to the suspect’s beliefs, a conviction could result in up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
