The Associated Press reports that arrests have been made in the case of the baby Jane Doe found near a California highway. In Corona, just days after the funeral for a newborn baby girl found deceased along the road, two arrests were made.
Investigators were contacted by someone who had information about the baby’s death and people who may be involved. Shawna Andritch, 22, and an unidentified 17-year-old male were arrested in connection with the baby’s murder.
It is unknown whether the two suspects have retained attorneys at this time, and details regarding their involvement in the murder have not been released.
“Baby Jane Doe” was found July 27 in a box, wrapped in a shirt near Interstate 15. Approximately 70 people attended her funeral that was arranged by local police officers and firefighters.
