FOX News reports that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent string of Nashville shootings and robberies. Demontrey Logsdon, 20, was arrested at his residence by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s gang unit, and an hour later Lacory Lytle, 24, turned himself in.
Police were searching for the men in connection with the fatal shooting of Jaime Sarrantonio, 30, and Bartley Teal, 33, outside of a bar in Nashville early last Friday. There was also a robbery and murder of Kendall Rice, 31, on August 14 that the men were sought for.
Lytle has been convicted of felony aggravated assault just this May, and was on a 5-year probated sentence. Logsdon was convicted in November 2017 of robbery and received the same sentence.
Surveillance footage identified the men as possible suspects in the crimes, as well as physical evidence recovered at the scenes.
The suspects allegedly approached a group of people leaving The Cobra Friday and tried to rob Teal, who was there to celebrate his birthday. After shooting him, the suspects fled north and dumped Teal’s belongings in an alley.
Rice was shot and killed while trying to catch a bus to work. His personal belongings were taken by the shooters. Just fifteen minutes later, another shooting at an apartment complex resulted in critical wounds to a male victim.
On August 8, a woman was walking her dogs and was shot in the back, and police believe this may be related to the other crimes. The victim said she saw a dark-colored Chevrolet, and witnesses at the other crime scenes described a similar vehicle. That woman suffered a bullet wound to her spine and is now paralyzed.
