Good Afternoon, The Deming Police Department has recently seen an increase of the misuse of handicap parking spaces throughout the City of Deming. We have received complaints from citizens stating vehicles are parked in handicapped spaces without placards and/or misusing handicapped placards. The Deming Police Department wants to remind people that in order to park in any handicap parking space, a handicapped placard must be displayed from the rear view mirror of the vehicle or the vehicle must have a handicapped license plate The handicapped placard is issued to one person and that person must be in the vehicle when using that placard. The fine for not complying with the ordinance is a minimum $255 and can go up to $500, it is possible that the vehicle can be towed. In the next few weeks we will be out actively looking for these violations and we ask the public for its cooperation. The Deming Police Department wants to ensure that these parking spaces are being utilized for the citizens who need them. I have attached the ordinance for your reference Thank you

Come out and enjoy some free food, drinks and games! Our Detective division will also be hosting a "Cram the Cruiser" event as well. They will be accepting donations in the form of school supplies which in turn will be given to schools to help ease the burden in that area. We look forward to seeing you there!!

Is everyone coming to the Great Candy Drop on Sunday, October 22 that's taking place at Waits Park (Rabbit Park) on the north side of Deming? It kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and wraps up at 2:00 p.m. Free hot dogs for everyone, games for the kids and A LOT of CANDY for them to scramble and gather up!!! On a side note, if you missed the drop off for donations to our local Healing House, a booth will be set up to collect those items and get them to where they need to be. We hope to see everyone there!!
