Colonial Regional Police Department News

It's time to start planning our 13th annual "Shop with a Cop" event!!! Each year at the beginning of the holiday season, our department selects several kids from within the communities we serve to take out for a day of fun and shopping. These kids are chosen by their school teachers and community leaders as children that are less fortunate and at the same time deserving of a special day. All the officers participating volunteer their time, Chick-fil-A Lower Nazareth donates breakfast, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers donates lunch, and every dollar spent is 100% donated! The day starts out with officer's picking up each child at their house in a police car. The kids then parade with lights are sirens to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast before heading over to Walmart Easton - Easton Nazareth Hwy for a shopping spree. Each kids is asked to complete a list so that they can get gifts for everyone in their family. After shopping, we head over to Red Robins for lunch before returning each child back home. This year we are having our event on Saturday December 8th, 2018. The number of kids we take each year and the amount that each one gets to spend is solely based on how much money we can raise in donations to support the day. Again, every dollar donated goes towards each child and giving them a fun filled day that they and their families will remember for years to come. If you are interested in making a donation to support this event, please follow the link below to our secure website where the donations can be made electronically. You can follow the prompts and you do not need a log-in account to make a donation. Just put "shop with a cop" in the reference box. Thank you so much for your support and we hope to continue our tradition of going bigger and better than the year before! https://trx.npspos.com/payapp/public/ECSale.html?siteId=17994&deptId=17994&urlKey=603e09d25844c70bb2b8fc0bc43d131fbffdc648

In an effort to grow cancer awareness and raise funds to support cancer prevention, research and education, our officer will be forgoing the department policy on facial hair and making a donation to charity of what would normally be spent on their monthly shaving needs. With the exception of a trimmed mustache, our officers normally have a strict policy that they be must clean shaven. All participating officer will begin the month on October 29th with a $25 donation. Every time the officer shaves, he will make a donation of $10. All remaining officers will have their photo’s put out on social media (Facebook) for the public to decide on a winner of the best beard. That officer will then be awarded the prize of keeping his facial hair for an extended period. Officers will be clean shaved by December 8th, 2018. The males made contact with a resident at his home and were able to talk the homeowner into walking out into the backyard to discuss installing a fence for a neighbor. The homeowner was smart enough to lock his front door first before going to the backyard. He also knew that his neighbor had no plans to install a fence. While one of the males was in the backyard, the other waited outfront in the driveway and attempted to enter the home but couldn't because the front door was locked.
