In recognition of Cancer Awareness Month, members of the West Warwick Police Department will be wearing pink bracelets and pins to show our support to all of those affected by cancer. This show of support will be a fundraiser for R.I. Pink Heals, a local non-profit foundation that raises money to assist men, women, and children battling ALL cancers. All the money raised is given back to the community. Members of R.I. Pink Heals are firefighters, police officers, EMS workers, nurses, school teachers, SURVIVORS, and others who want to help the people in our own community. If you wish to help support this great cause, you may purchase your own pink bracelet for $2.00 at the West Warwick Police Department. At the end of October, we will be presenting R.I. Pink Heals with a donation to help them continue to help others. Thank you very much for your support.

A great time was had by all at the first annual "Cops vs Coaches" flag football game. It was a tough, competitively played game, with the police coming out with the win. Everybody had so much fun, we decided to do this every year. We were thinking of renaming it the "Icy Hot" bowl :) Now the cops and coaches can sit back and relax and watch the West Warwick Steelers play (and win) another championship season.

Here is some more information explaining the arrest and investigation by the Cranston Police and DCYF involving the controversial video we mention in our previous post.

*** Crime Alert**** Last week, the West Warwick Police received dozens of complaints regarding a controversial post and video involving two individuals. We immediately investigated. Although the names and ages on the post were false, we were able to positively identify the two involved people. Our investigation led us to contacting another department, where (jurisdiction) we believe the involved individuals may be living. That department immediately completed an investigation and an arrest was made. Thank you all for the information and we will continue to investigate this incident.

A year ago today, we lost our dear friend and mentor Major Roland Coutu. His impact on this town and the West Warwick Police Department is irreplaceable and we miss him every day. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Until we meet again Ro, we salute you.

This was sent to us by one of our followers. Glad we can help.

This has to be a good sign for West Warwick!
