Storm season is among us. Let's make sure everyone has the chance to register for mass notifications on your cell phones. Mass Notification for Panhandle Residents To sign up for Mass Notification in the Texas Panhandle: go to: https://r.i-info.com/rc/prc (just select, copy and paste into your address bar) As a resident of the Texas Panhandle there are many actions that you can take to prepare you and your family for emergencies and disasters. One of the first and easiest steps to take is to connect with the communities where you live, work, have family, friends or own property. To help you get connected whatever your needs, the 26 counties and 65 municipalities across the Panhandle have worked together to create a one-stop-shop for any resident to sign up. In addition, this notification has partnered with the National Weather Service in Amarillo and Lubbock to relay critical alerts from the counties you have signed up for. Once you have registered on the Resolve to Be Ready Mass Notification Registry – take a moment to download the Full Connect app from your App Store or Google Play. This app will allow you to receive your emergency and weather notifications in one location. BE INFORMED – BE PREPARED

Electricity has been out in Collingsworth county since 9:45 this morning. Emergency management coordinators are in the process of getting facilities in order for people who have no heating. Collingsworth County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a Full-time Dispatcher / Jailer Position. Under the general direction of the Sheriff or his designee, Dispatchers / Jailers, performs a wide variety of tasks connected with the operation of the jail and communications center. Work involves the operation of the jail and the safety and security of the prisoners, receiving 911 calls, taking non-emergency calls for service, and dispatching Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS units. Starting annual salary is $22,943.45, plus insurance, paid vacation and holidays and other benefits. Applicant must be 18 years of age, hold a GED or high school diploma, and be a U.S. Citizen. Applicant must be able to pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check, a physical examination, psychological evaluation and drug testing. Successful completion of training to obtain the State required certifications shall occur within one year of employment.
