The Houston County Law Enforcement Association placed wreaths on the graves of Deputy Jesse English and Deputy Bobby Franks in remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice given when they were killed in the line of duty as peace officers. Jesse English was killed May 28th 1923 when he was shot while attempting to arrest an escapee from the Texas State Prison system. Deputy Bobby Franks was killed on December 23rd 2002 while directing traffic on Hwy 287 when he was struck by a vehicle. This past week has been dedicated to the memory of those in law enforcement who lost their lives and for appreciation to those who are currently serving and protecting. The wreaths were made by Houston County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher Sylvuan Duncan.

Great job by all the volunteers and students that put this together.

Public Awareness Announcement, From our friends at Crockett Police Dept.

Take a brief moment to study the card slot before you slide your card. If the housing looks misaligned or perhaps you see something unusual? Personally I like to physically grab the card housing to see if it will pull out or wiggle before I use my card. If you see something unusual, like unsecured wire(s) or black tab that seems out of place. DO NOT USE! Notify the store employees, so that they may call Law Enforcement. Please do not try to remove any wires yourself to avoid electric shock! http://www.itemonline.com/news/local_news/police-locate-two-skimming-devices-in-town/article_73f86bbe-84b0-50fa-998b-64b4d1167842.html#utm_campaign=blox&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social
