The Cleveland Police Department would like to thank the Ladies of Grace Rural Shade Baptist Church in Tarkington for their generous donation. These terrific ladies make scarves, hats, gloves as well as mats for the homeless. What a wonderful group of ladies and we are blessed to have them helping us help our community!

We would like to send out a special “Thank you” to Tim Hughes and Walmart. Tim and Walmart often assist us with projects at the Police Department. We appreciate their continued help and support.

Update: Our annual Drug Take Back Program was a success. We would like to thank the Cleveland City Hall, Senior Circle and our local Pharmacies for helping to get the word out. Our partnership with the Drug Enforcement Agency has proven beneficial to our residents over the years. This is a great way to get rid of old medications that hurt our environment. Also, disposing of medications properly keeps them from falling into wrong hands. Thank you to everyone who participated in this program.

Recently, Liberty County District Attorney Logan Pickett provided all Officers of the Cleveland Police Department new flashlights for their daily use. We are very appreciative of this generous gift and would like to publicly thank District Attorney Logan Pickett for his continued support for Law Enforcement.

May 13-19, 2018 National Police Week In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as “National Peace Officers Memorial Day”, and the week in which May 15th falls, as “National Police Week”. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, “National Police Week” pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. We would like to encourage all citizens in the City of Cleveland, Texas to show respect and honor to those who have proudly served, and are currently serving their communities across this country in law enforcement. There are many dedicated and brave men and women who put their uniforms on daily risking their own lives, and many have died making that final sacrifice. To the family members of past law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty; we are recognizing, honoring, and commemorating all of our fallen heroes.
