The second annual Trunk or Treat was a great success. We lost count with the number of kiddos that came thru. The church was packed the whole time. Thanks to the Limestone County Probation Department and all those that donated candy for the event. Thanks to the other participants that came out: ILSA, Los Pepes, Sonic, Limestone EMS, Pct 1 Constable Smith and a few others we missed. A special thanks to Sergeant Ryan Curry for getting this thing together. And a very huge thank you to the Living Proof Church for letting us move our activities out of the weather. It was a good time.

Due to the weather, we are moving our trunk or treat to the Living Proof Church on FM 937. We are still starting at 6pm. Please share and take your friends to get the word out.

TRUNK OR TREAT UPDATE...... We are still planning on being at the courthouse tomorrow from 6pm to 8pm. We are hoping the weather will hold off and let us get some sugar in the hands of the little ones. A little rain won't stop us from being there. If it is a torrential down pour we may have to re-evaluate. We will make a posting on Wed around 4pm with any updates so please stay tuned.

We want to say Thank you to George And Rebecca Sheehan for their candy donation today for the trunk or treat event on Halloween. Thank you!!!

With the busy week for the Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force I thought we might remind our followers, on Facebook, to apply the above. Sgt. David Bell with the HOT Task Force also assisted MPD with recovery of another stolen car today. They believe the car today may have been used in a robbery around Waco. Be safe!

Yesterday Sgt. Jason Ash and Chief Agnew conducted a theft and fraud program for the Limestone County Retired Teachers meeting on Monday morning. He did such a good job they asked him to keep talking, which those of you that know Sgt Ash, know that was hard for him to do. Lol. Seriously, he did a great job and we are proud to have him.

Limestone County Deputies received a report of a vehicle that had been stolen near Lake Mexia. The vehicle was equipped with GPS. The vehicle was tracked to West US 84 where deputies located it. The vehicle was followed into Bellmead where it turned North onto I35. The vehicle was driving erratically and was weaving in and out of traffic. The driver exited the highway where he crashed into a fence. Deputies attempted to take the driver into custody’s but he placed the truck in reverse and rammed into one of our patrol cars immobilizing it. Other agencies arrived at that time and began pursuing the vehicle, who lost control of the truck and wrecked nearby. He was taken into custody without injury to himself or anyone else. The deputy that was struck is OK and suffered no injuries. Thank you to the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, Tx DPS, Mexia PD and Lacy Lakeview PD for responding so quickly. We are grateful to have such wonderful neighbors that we can work well with. So thankful that no one was hurt.
