EVERYONE STAY SAFE AND DO NOT GO DOWN THE COUNTY ROADS THAT ARE BARRICADED. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GETTING STUCK AND THE WRECKERS ARE HAVING A HARD TIME PULLING THEM OUT. IF OFFICERS SEE YOU GO BY THE BARRICADE YOU WILL BE ISSUED A CITATION.

On the night of 04/14/2017 The Mason County Sheriff’s Department with the help of Air Maritime Command seized 81 pounds of Marihuana at the Mason County Airport. Roy Marion Jones from Harper, Texas, Christopher Thomas Urban from Austin, Texas, and Joseph Edward Ward from Austin, Texas were placed under arrest and held at the Mason County Jail for Delivery of Marihuana 1st Degree Felony. Delivery of Marihuana >50 lbs.- <200 Lbs. is a felony of the first degree punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for life or for a term of not more than 99 years or less than 15 years and a fine up to $10,000.

On 04/06/2017 Sonja Palacio was placed under arrest by the Mason County Sheriff’s Department for an incident that occurred on 4/01/2017 in Mason County, Texas. Sonja Palacio was taken into the Mason County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon 2nd Degree Felony On 04/07/2017 Sandra Palacio was placed under arrest by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department on a Warrant issued by the Mason County Sheriff’s Department for the same incident that occurred on 4/01/2017 in Mason County Texas. Sandra Palacio was taken into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon 2nd Degree Felony The Mason County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an ongoing investigation regarding the incident and additional charges are pending. Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon 2nd Degree Felony has penalties of 2-20 years in prison, and fines of up to $10,000.

On the night of 3/28/2017, the Mason County Sheriff’s Department with the help of Mason County Probation Officer Frank Trull conducted a search of 1210 Morrow Street in Mason, Texas. During the search The Mason County Sheriff’s Department located a large quantity of Methamphetamine, Cash and firearms. Earnest Lisle of Mason Texas was placed under arrest for Manufacture or Delivery of Substance in Penalty Group 1, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Moses Palacio of Mason Texas was placed under arrest for Manufacture or Delivery of Substance in Penalty Group 1, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Misty Johnson of Mason Texas was placed under arrest for Manufacture or Delivery of Substance in Penalty Group 1, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Manufacture or Delivery of Substance in Penalty Group 1, is a felony of the first degree punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for life or for a term of not more than 99 years or less than 15 years and a fine up to $10,000. Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity is a felony of the first degree punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for life or for a term of not more than 99 years or less than 15 years and a fine up to $10,000. Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence is a felony of the third degree punishable by two to ten years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.
