Our hearts and prayers go out to our brothers and sisters at the Waller County Sheriff’s Office for the loss of one of their own.

Officers enjoyed seeing several trick-or-treaters at the station today. Such a wonderful community we serve.

We had a wonderful time at Hondoween. We loved seeing all the smiling faces and wonderful costumes.

Thank You to all of our loyal supporters of our monthly Coffee with Cops program. We are pleased to see a growing crowd and many familiar faces each month. We will continue this program in the coming year and hope to schedule some of the events at times where those who work may attend.

Final Update: All roads back to normal. Update: 30th Street open. Avenue U/CR 541 still closed south of 30th Street to SAT Learning Center. This affects school traffic and pickup at SAT Learning Center (alternate back route via CR 531 or FM 462 S). Please plan ahead. Closures expected for at least the next two hours.

UPDATE: Recovered. If you have any information regarding this stolen vehicle, please contact the Hondo Police Department at 830-426-5353.

UPDATE: Power restored. Power Outage for Avenue A-M/11th-18th Street. Electric crews are onsite. Updates are being sent through i-Info.

Due to inclement weather, we will be CANCELING the siren testing today so as not to cause panic or confusion.

This year at National Night Out we invited some of Hondo's most favorite mascots to join our debut of Safety Pup and our old friend McGruff the Crime Dog in Mascot Madness. We hope everyone enjoyed the danceoff as much as we did.

The Hondo Police Department would like to express their gratitude to all who came out, supported and participated in our National Night Out Event to include our community, vendors and volunteers. It was a huge success. We would also like to thank the Hondo Volunteer Fire Department for their much appreciated assistance with the event. As always it was a pleasure to have our fellow partners from Community EMS and Airlife joining us for the event. Our sponsors who supported the event were James Avery Artisan Jewelry, Sure Seal, Hondo Health and Rehab Center, The City of Hondo, NAPA Auto Parts, Sonic Drive-In, Hondo Café, South Texas Refuse Disposal (STRD), HEB Store, Hondo Junior Owls Football Program, The Raye Theater, Hondo National Bank, Vantage Bank, Community National Bank, Dollar General, and Keith Lutz (DJ Music). We would like to thank all for their continuing support and expression of community unity.

TODAY IS THE DAY! NATIONAL NIGHT OUT! COME ON OUT TONIGHT! We will be set up between the Medina County Courthouse and the Hondo Police Station.

Reminder that tomorrow is National Night Out! Hope to see you all there and don’t forget your lawn chairs for the showing of Zootopia. We are hoping for cooperative weather.
