FLOODING CONCERNS! While most of our roadways are open now, we have a high chance for additional rains tonight. Please be vigilant and pay close attention to the roads in the morning and overnight.

FLOODING UPDATE! Flooding is continuing in Medina County. FM 471 North and South are closed in multiple locations, FM 463 is also closed in three locations. State and County crews are continuing to put up barricades but we also need your help, if you see water on the roadway - TURN AROUND. We have made multiple rescues this morning and some of those included persons driving around barricades. FLOODING! Good morning. Medina County currently has numerous road closures that include FM 462 north of Hondo, Highway 173 between Hondo and Bandera, and numerous other county roads. If you don’t have to be on the roads, stay home. If you have to be on the roads, do not cross low water crossings. “TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN”

The earlier posted BOLO has been cancelled. The child has been located safe and sound at home with Mom. There was no actual abduction. Thank you for your help in this matter.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Medina County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a possible abduction of a female in the Medina River Subdivision. The possible Victim is being described as 10 to 14 year old female with long dark colored hair. The possible suspects are a Hispanic male and female believed to be in their twenties. The suspects were driving a dark grey or charcoal colored four door sedan, newer looking, that was last seen traveling north on CR 5734. Any persons with information are asked to contact the Medina County Sheriff’s Office at (830)741-6153, if you believe you see the vehicle, please call 911.

We would like to thank all of the citizens who called in today with leads on the stabbing suspect. We would also like to thank all of the officers who assisted us in searching for and locating the suspect. The suspect is in custody and our prayers go out to the Victim and the Victim’s family.

❄️❄️❄️❄️ Multiple roadways in Medina County are beginning to ice over or have iced over bridges. These roadways currently include: FM 462 - north of Hondo HWY 173 - north of Hondo FM 1283 - near the Bandera County Line FM 1957 at FM 471 HWY 211 at Geronimo Creek FM 471 at IH 35 FM 3176 at IH 35 We expect the icy conditions to worsen into the early or mid afternoon. Stay home if you can, be careful if you must venture out.

Just a heads up to all of our residents and neighbors. Heads up Medina County and all of our neighbors. Tuesday morning could get really nasty. Please pray for this officer's family, both at home and in uniform. Rest easy brother, we have the watch now.

The Medina County Sheriff's Office has been in contact with members of the Wilson County Sheriff's Office to offer our assistance with the mass shooting. We were asked to pray for their community and those affected by this horrible event. Please pray those affected and for the first responders who are dealing with the aftermath.

It has been a busy week for our deputies. Three search warrants in two days.

The Medina County Sheriff's will adding additional deputies to each shift starting tonight to assist in the flood and weather watch. If you don't have to be out in the weather, please stay home. We expect heavy rain and some wind issues from Hurricane Harvey and our county officials are preparing as best as possible. IF YOU SEE WATER ON THE ROADWAY - TURN AROUND - DON'T DROWN. A burn ban was issued for Medina County today. Agricultural burns will still be allowed by permit. Please report any fires to our dispatch office at (830)741-6153 or by dialing 911.

Cub Scout Pack 0072 helped our Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops in placing American flags on the graves of our local Veterans. Remembering and Honoring those who safeguarded our Freedom.
