Huntsville Police Department News

This past week the Huntsville Police Officers Association President Everett Harrell awarded Tytana O’Bryant with the Huntsville Police Officers Association Kevin Williams Memorial Scholarship. Congratulations Tytana! 🎓💚

Wonder what all the police cars were doing in town today? The Law Enforcement Torch Run came through Huntsville! The Law Enforcement Torch Run has supported the Special Olympics for 50 years! Officers are currently escorting the "Flame of Hope" to Arlington for the summer games.

And just like that the 2017-2018 school year is done! Please remember that HISD schools will be releasing early. We will be having a STRONG presence on our campuses as well as within the school zones to assist with traffic control. We hope everyone has a happy and safe summer!

In early April of 2018 Senior Officers Brandon Boyd and Keith Sarraf overheard a medical call of a man in cardiac arrest at the Kroger in Huntsville. Being in the area, both officers responded to the scene without being dispatched. After arriving on scene, Senior Officers Boyd and Sarraf immediately began CPR until EMS could arrive. They have been heralded by doctors as saving the man's life. On Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the City of Huntsville Council Meeting, both Senior Officer Brandon Boyd and Senior Officer Keith Sarraf were awarded with the Life Saving Award and recognized for their swift and caring action, which allowed another human being to continue on his life journey with his family. We, at the Huntsville Police Department, could not be more proud to have these gentlemen as members of our Department.

Join us in celebrating and remembering all of our Police Officers during the week of May 13 - May 19, 2018. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.” -Matthew 5:9
