A full-scale emergency exercise on SHSU's Huntsville campus is scheduled for Thursday, August 9 starting around 9:00 a.m. Designed to simulate an actual emergency, the goal of the exercise is to evaluate and improve the response plans of SHSU and local emergency officials. Because of the magnitude of the exercise, we want to stress to the university community THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. Do not be alarmed by an increased presence in fire and medical personnel on or near the university. This training is essential as it allows area first responders to rehearse response operations and improve coordination with university, city and county officials. A real emergency can happen at any time. For assistance, please contact University Police at 936-294-1000 or dial 9-1-1. To learn more about emergency planning, please visit www.shsu.edu/katsafe
