Tappahannock Police Department News

On 10/31/18 our department assisted the Essex County Sheriff's Office with trunk or treat (character parade) at the Essex Intermediate School. :)

Reminder that Trick or Treating in town will be from 6-8 tonight.

Due to another event in town, the drug take back ended at 1:30. You may turn in any unwanted prescriptions to the police department Monday-Friday from 8am to 4pm.

The police department and Essex Sheriff’s Office will be collecting unneeded prescriptions this Saturday from 10-2 At WalMart. Syringes and needles will not be accepted.

On October 16, 2018 our office and Essex County Sheriff's Office conducted Essex/Tappahannock Triad Organization with their car fit conducted at Tappahannock Wal-Mart. This event helped senior citizens understand more about their vehicles and gave helpful suggestions about seat belts and general driver safety.

The police department is aware of the Facebook post regarding an attempted abduction at WalMart this past Saturday. We are still looking into the incident but at this time there is no evidence that an attempted abduction took place.

Just a reminder!!!

On October 13, 2018 Captain Davis and K-9 Drego were invited to participate in the Trinity UMC Fall Festival. Both Captain Davis and Drego are in training and will be certified for use in the near future.

Crews are still working on Water Lane to remove debris. Use caution when traveling through the area.

Trick-or-treating will be held in the Town of Tappahannock on Wednesday October 31, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

We would like to thank WalMart for their recent generous donation to the department. The money will be used for the Shop with a Cop program and other community related projects.
