Michael J. Goodman, who has been featured since early last month, took the necessary steps to self report to our office this afternoon in order to be served on outstanding charges. Mr. Goodman was featured after violating probation stemming from a charge of destruction of property. We wish to commend Mr. Goodman for his efforts in communicating with our office to resolve this violation.

Tips were being relayed to our office for the past 2 days on possible locations for Troy Keith Mullins, who was featured on th 21st as wanted after violating his probation stemming from a prior conviction of cocaine possession. These tips lead authorities to the location of Mullins yesterday evening and resulted in another successful capture. Thank you again to our public for all of the help they provide to us! This capture happened because of you!

A tip was received from our public last night on the whereabouts of wanted fugitive Ashley Diane Chapman. Follow up on this tip resulted in the successful capture of Chapman in Charleston WV. Ms. Chapman has been featured since June, 2017 as wanted for failure to appear for concealment charges. We wish to thank the public as well as the officers in Charleston WV for their assistance.

The Tazewell County Sheriff's Office has been awarded a $5,000 Grant from the Alzheimer's Foundation of America that will help with our Project Lifesaver Program. If you know someone in Tazewell County that is need of a Lifesaver location bracelet due to Alzheimer, or other cognitive disorders, please call us at 276-988-0645. A big thank you to the Alzheimer's Foundation for choosing us for a grant and to the Project Lifesaver team, headed up by Mrs. Shannon Yost, at the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office!

Congratulations to our recent Academy Graduates! They have spent the last few months at the Southwest Criminal Justice Training Academy getting trained and prepared for what they may encounter day to day while patrolling Tazewell County.

Sgt. Brian Triplett with the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office has just made contact with Joseph Perry Street in the Richlands area and taken him into custody. Street was featured last month as wanted for probation violation stemming from charge of grand larceny. He is currently being processed on these charges.

Wanted since October 2015, Gregory Allen Vandyke has finally been located in Richmond, Kentucky and taken into custody. Vandyke was featured as wanted for failure to appear on charge of obstruction of justice. Our office will begin work to have Mr. Vandyke transported back to Tazewell County.

Adrian Denise Boswell, who was featured late last month, was arrested by authorities with the Salem Va. Police Department late last night. Ms. Boswell was wanted for probation violation stemming from possession of narcotics. She was served on our charges early this morning.

Yesterday we were notified by authorities in West Virginia that Melinda Gayle Omarrah was currently in custody in a West Virginia facility. Omarrah was featured last month as wanted for probation violation stemming from charge of concealment. A detainer has been placed for Ms. Omarrah and we will be transporting her back to Tazewell after she settles her unrelated charges in West Virginia.

The men and women of the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office want to Congratulate our friend and co-worker worker Corporal Glen Keen on his graduation from Liberty University! We are very proud of him!!

We decided to pay a visit to some of our surrounding Law Enforcement agency’s this week. Our Tazewell County 911 dispatcher’s took them baskets to let them know how much they are appreciated!! Especially during this week when we are remembering the ones we have lost.

Police Week continues with a special COOK-OUT Fundraiser Wednesday 11am - 1pm at the Tazewell County Courthouse. *Proceeds for the McCann Family* Come out and join the men and women of the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office for lunch!

In continuing Police Week: we had a great time talking to members of the community and wishing them a Good Morning while handing out delicious Donuts from the Donut Diva, which were provided by Fisher and Company and fresh coffee from The Well on Main St!!

What an amazing tribute and so remarkable the outpouring of love and support from the community. Ashley Fisher you all out did yourselves and all of the businesses that donated door prizes. Thank you all so much for your love and support.

Our office just received confirmation that officers with the Bluefield WV Police Department have David Alexander Crockett in their custody. Crockett was featured last week as wanted for probation violation stemming from charge of concealment. Our many thanks to the BWVPD for their assistance.

Russell Eric Stiltner was apprhended on the 12th by the Virginia State Police in the Wytheville area. Stiltner was featured at the end of April as wanted for probation violation stemming from charge of eluding police. Mr. Stiltner was served on these charges and transported to a local facility.
