It's officially NO SHAVE NOVEMBER!!! 🧔 Once again, GCSO is participating in No Shave November. If you see some of our guys looking a little scruffier than usual, don't worry. They're joining in to support the cause to raise cancer awareness! We are also continuing the fun in the office by posting laminated photos of our deputies and chaplains so we can spend the next month creating all kinds of interesting hair-do's for them, as well as some creative makeup, hats, etc. We'll post some photos later this month so you can enjoy the laughs with us! 🤣

GCSO participated in the 1st Annual "Trick or Treat Main Street!" We are already looking forward to next year!!! :)

Look at us go! We won "Best Group Costume" for Snow White, the Prince, and the Seven Dwarfs! This was so much fun and was a great group effort by our staff! Thank you to the Pomeroy Chamber of Commerce and everyone who planned and participated! What a fabulous community event!!! ❤️

Here he is, THE PRINCE! And Snow White! Stop by the front of the courthouse to see us!

Tonight's the Night!!!!

Come see the dwarfs at the Sheriff's Office today! Rumor has it that the prince might even be here!!!! 🤴

Join us in congratulating Andrea Denny on completing her in-house training! We are very happy to have her on our team!

Come see us on Halloween!

911 is the ONLY emergency number in the United States. Dialing 112 or any other number may...or MAY NOT...get you the help you need! 112 is the emergency number for all of Europe so many U.S. phone providers will automatically forward those 112 calls to 911 centers. But that is not a guarantee! Watch this brief video for a message from NENA (National Emergency Number Association).

Check out our new light covers! Although they look cool and are a fun accent to our dispatch center, they actually have an even more important purpose; cutting back glare from fluorescent lights. We love them!

Washington State Emergency Management has issued A Freeze Warning for portions of Adams, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Klickitat, Lincoln, Kittitas, Walla Walla, Whitman and Yakima Counties from 2:00 am until 900 am on Thursday. Lows in the lower 20’s to the mid 30’s.

Deputy Dispenza's wife, Maria, was gracious to make us her award winning pie. THANK YOU!, Maria, for the yummy homemade food!

Reminder, you will be receiving a National Alert text tomorrow afternoon! ** This is only a test** Read more information in this article!

50 years ago today, Deputy Lee Birdsell and Patrolman Eugene Jennings were killed in pursuit of a stolen car. Garfield County Sheriff's Office is taking a moment of silence this afternoon in remembrance of this event. This video is a great memorial to these two lives that were lost in the line of duty and sacrifice.

We have EXCITING NEWS!!! This year we're going to have Coffee with a Cop AND Donuts with a Dispatcher! Join us on October 3, 2018 from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Senior Center, 695 Main Street. As many of you may know, Coffee with a Cop is a movement designed to help break down the barriers in communities between residents and officers that can make it hard to address crime and public safety. It is a simple plan: Officers invite their residents to join them for a cup of coffee and a conversation. It has been spreading like wildfire ever since the first cup was poured, and today more than 2,000 law enforcement agencies throughout the United States participate in this movement. Watch Facebook for more information!

GCSO's 2nd Annual Coffee with a Cop will be held Wednesday October 3, 2018 from 8:30am-10:30am at the Garfield County Senior Center, 695 Main St. This year we are adding Donuts with a Dispatcher to our morning so you will have the chance to visit with everyone from administrative staff to deputies to dispatchers! Please plan to join us for coffee and donuts on October 3rd!
