Each year as the temperatures rise, so do our calls for service regarding dogs left in vehicles at various businesses around town. Please have common sense and leave your pets at home on warm days. We doubt anyone would choose to sit in a vehicle where the temperature is well over 100 degrees on a day like today, and your dog shouldn't be forced to, either. This dog was left in the vehicle with the windows barely even cracked for over an hour today. The temperature outside was 83 degrees, making it over 115 degrees inside the car. In Washington, the law allows us to issue a Notice of Infraction, at a minimum, or if circumstances warrant, make an arrest for animal cruelty and impound your pet.
